Passion for authenticity
The passion of Christian Dours for military vehicles dates from his childhood. He has been able to bring together around him a number of enthusiasts who have joined him in the A.C.VE.MI.
A family history...
On 15 August 1944, the Americans arrived to liberate Chartres. Two young soldiers were victims of a grenade thrown into their vehicle, parked in front of the house of his grandfather, Lionel Lechevalier. The vehicle, a half-track, was photographed in front of the family home. This photograph was at the origin of all Christian Dour's passion for the restoration of military vehicles and for history in general.
It should be noted that, at the time, the automobile sector was not unfamiliar to the family of Christian Dours. His great-grandfather, Lucien Lechevalier, signed his first contract, in January 1904, with his friend Louis Renault, the automobile manufacturer. The contract made Lucien Lechevalier the world's first automobile dealer. His son, Lionel Lechevalier, succeeded him in 1941. Christian took over a few years later.
The association A.C.VE.MI collects and restores its vehicles and makes them available to many film directors and event organisers for commemorations, film shoots, military celebrations, etc., with the support of a complete team of enthusiasts.
